"Productive Australian farms, free from health and safety risk"
The member organisations of Farmsafe Australia welcome your interest in health and safety on Australian farms.
Farmsafe Australia Inc is an association of national agencies that share a common interest in Australian farm safety. The vision that is shared by all Farmsafe Australia members is "Productive Australian farms free from health and safety risk". It is clear that improvements can be made in reducing health and safety risk on Australian farms, that lives can be saved and serious disability prevented.
Farmsafe Australia was incorporated in 1993 as an Association in the Australian Capital Territory. Leadership of the association comes from agriculture industry, and its Public Officer is located with the National Farmers’ Federation in Canberra. The Farmsafe Australia Resource Centre is located in Moree in north-west New South Wales, a rural region of major agricultural importance.
The mission or role of Farmsafe Australia has been defined as "To lead and coordinate national efforts to enhance the well-being and productivity of Australian agriculture through improved farm health and safety awareness and practices".
Farmsafe Australia is interested in protecting the health and safety of farmers, workers, family members and visitors to farms.
Since its inauguration, the Farmsafe Australia network has implemented a range of programs and projects that are based on a sound evidence of need and effectiveness. You can find out about these programs on this web-site and by following the key links to member organisations.
We would welcome new partners who share the vision. Please contact your state Farmsafe organisation, or contact Farmsafe Australia directly.
